About the Baby Ubuntu Early Care and Support Programme App.

This App supports the delivery of the Baby Ubuntu Early Care and Support Programme (EIP).

The Baby Ubuntu Early Care and Support Programme (EIP) is a participatory community-based group programme to support young children (0-3 years) with developmental disability and their families. Our groups are facilitated by healthcare workers and expert parents, we learn together through sharing our stories and experiences.

The programme aims to

  • Increase caregiver knowledge and confidence
  • Improve care and support for children and their families
  • Encourage positive attitudes towards disability
  • Promote inclusion within the family and community

This is achieved through

  • Peer support
  • Caregiver empowerment
  • Engaging with family and community members
  • Enabling early identification of the child’s needs

 

How can you use this App.

For the facilitator, this App will:

  • Complement the training manual
  • Provide videos, audio clips and
  • interactive images to support programme delivery
  • Help record and monitor group attendance and progress
  • Offer a platform for reflection and mentorship

For the caregiver, this App will:

  • Remind you of the key module learning points
  • Give you access to shared resources for continued use at home
  • Help you share what you have learnt with others
  • Translate what you have learned to the home
